Steve Ford – 1971.  (Video courtesy of Steve Ford) Ford (Sr.) set the state record when he pole vaulted 15’3″.  In the preceding 18 years of the event, only three athletes surpassed the mark and Ford’s jump goes down as the 4th best in state history.

4×400 – 2015.  (Video courtesy of Michael Hoy) Cedar Falls relay team of Josh Jamison (Sr.), Gaven O’Hair (Jr.), TreyShawn LaBeaux (Fr.) and Hunter Lavallee (Jr.) successfully defended the school’s 4×400 title.  Their 3:18.02 set a school record and was the 5th fastest in state history.

4×400 – 2016.  (Video courtesy of Michael Hoy) Cedar Falls 4×400 relay team of Nathan Hoy (Jr.), Gaven O’Hair (Sr.), Ethan Smith (Sr.) and Hunter Lavallee (Sr.) won CF’s 3rd consecutive 4×400 state championship.  Their time of 3:16.85 broke the school record and put them 2nd in state history.

Sam Schillinger – 2017.  (Video) Footage of final 600 meters of Schillinger’s 3200 meter Drake Relays victory and school record.  His time of 9:06.04 was good for 6th best all-time in state history.

4×400 – 2017.  (Video courtesy of Michael Hoy) Cedar Falls relay team of Seb Gearhart (Sr.), Matt Timmer (Sr.), Quinlan O’Hair (So.) and Nathan Hoy (Sr.) brought home the schools 4th consecutive 4×400 title.  Only two other class 4A schools have won the same relay event four consecutive years.

4×100 – 2015.  (Video courtesy of Michael Hoy) Cedar Falls sprinters TreyShawn LaBeaux (Fr.), Michael Abbas (Jr.), Matt Turcotte (Sr.) and Dennison Harrington (Jr.) brought home the Tigers third 4×100 championship within a five year span (2011-2015).

and won his first of four state championships with a come-from-behind effort in the 400 hurdles.

James Harrington – 2011.  James Harrington (Jr.) defended his 200 meter crown on his way to four golds over the weekend.  His time of 21.16 is the fastest automatic timed 200 in state history.
